OUR STORY

Two friends, 23 years ago, wanted to make an impact within the hairdressing community and create a space which not only consisted of fabulous hairdressing, but exceptional customer service.

That space is macleodbradley Hair Salon in the cosmopolitan suburb of West Didsbury.

(Lynette) Macleod was the hairdresser and (Helen) Bradley was the business, an ex-hairdresser so fully aware of how the hair industry worked.

What started small soon began to grow and although business was booming, life took a different path for Lynette, resulting with Helen running the salon on her own.

Already surrounding themselves with a team of amazing people, the salon continued to grow from strength to strength and Lynette and Helen are still the greatest of friends.

West Didsbury was an up and coming area, a vibrant community with young professionals making their mark and macleodbradley fitted right in.

Consistently offering exceptional service, beautiful hair, alongside working with leading brands and fabulous products meant macleodbradley was quickly turning into a destination salon.

BEFORE MACLEODBRADLEY

Lynette and Helen both started out at Pierre Alexandre’s, one of the most famous city centre hairdressing salons in Manchester at the time. Looking after high end clients, including pop stars, soap stars from Coronation Street who would come in and learn their lines whilst having a perm and the best claim to fame, working with Take That, led them to working to an exceptionally high standard of professionalism that has been carried on throughout their careers.

Pierre Alexandre was a globally recognized hairdresser and educator who coined the word ‘unisex’ for salons, invented ‘the Halo’ haircut and operated London’s renowned film and photography Studio 17, where dozens of pop icons shot their music videos in the 1980’s. Working within such a prestigious salon for years, in the city centre, was truly an inspirational and most educational time for both Lynette and Helen.

Fast forward quite a lot years and Helen had embarked on more of a business-style career and was working at a friends salon which Lynette also worked at. After a few wines one evening they came up with the idea of ‘having a go at our own salon’ and so macleodbradley was born.
